Being intentional towards your goals and bettering yourself pays off big time.
Patrick started with Fit Soldiers in January 2017. Since his start, he has decided to make a true commitment to his health. He has done that nutritionally and physically. Patrick has done “The Whole 30” and continues to follow the basic guidelines. He has continued to workout on his own time in addition to the Fit Soldiers workouts. He has participated in 5K races and even a Triathlon. These are things he did over 25 years ago. Not something he has done in recent years.
It has been a lot of hard work both mentally and physically. When he feels stuck, he is not afraid to asks for advice. Most important, he is ready to he
ar that advice. Patrick tries to plan his meals and workouts. He sets a goal and strives to achieve them.
During our 28 Days of Gratitude he was nearly perfect sharing what he is grateful for nearly every day.
This last year Patrick has lost over 45 pounds alone!
Keep up the good work, it clearly pays off.

It’s not uncommon for us to host charity events. Part of our core values is to be sacrificial. Meaning if the sweat, reps, hard work that go on within our four walls doesn’t leave here to become more then we’re wasting our time.
This past weekend we had several firsts. In our gym and community. What had originally been planned as an Obstacle Course Training Open House (not a first) changed it’s tone a couple weeks prior. An unfortunate first was that three local Colorado Obstacle Course (COR) ladies Kym, Corrina, and Elizabeth. They were excited and on their way to the Arizona Spartan Race were the victims of a tragic drunk driving accident. One took the life of one and left the other with severe injuries.

With our decades of combined experience in personal training, fat loss, nutrition and, lifestyle coaching we have come to the realization that we don’t have a problem losing weight. Every year millions of adults set out to ‘lose weight’ and the truth is they do. We’ve done it, you’ve done it, and you’ve probably done it several times, and you’re getting pretty good at it. The problem is that it doesn’t last. The truth is we have a weight REGAIN problem and not a weight loss problem. It’s true, only 5 percent of those who lose weight on a diet keep it off; 95% regain it. A significant percentage gain back more than they originally lost.
We see this for many reasons…
A little about me…I have twin girls and enjoy spending outdoor time with my family. I also work full time and love my job of taking care of pediatric patients. When I was younger I stayed active riding mountain bikes, hiking, and rock climbing. However I did not grow up with a good nutritional foundation. In college I took some nutrition courses and appreciated all of the knowledge I gained.
My greatest struggles were maintaining motivation and eating properly. When I joined Fit Soldiers I had just run my first 10k. My children were young and I was having trouble finding opportunities for other means of exercise. I was also working night shift which made consistency problematic.
I’m 40 years old and I have two kids, ages 3 and 1/2 and 7. I am a Colorado native who grew up in the mountains. I participated in team sports such as volleyball and basketball growing up and transitioned to more lifestyle sports like scuba diving and hiking as an adult. I now spend most of my time trying to keep up with my kids.
